Day 79: Albany, SA

Albany was another lovely spot on the south coast of western Australia. As I write this, we have been going nonstop for a week and I’ve gotten a bit behind in my sharing. At the last minute we booked bicycles that were delivered to us at the port. They were a bit behind in the drop off and setup, but the couple doing the drop off were such a hoot, and had me laughing constantly! I rode with Jess and Maria for a while and we had to do a bit of trail finding after missing a turnoff to go over a freeway bridge.

I was surprised to see weeds growing that are ferns! I suppose that some of the weeds at home are pretty and useful! The place is very uncrowded and has incredible beaches that are mostly deserted. Very little traffic as well, at least on the other side of the harbor.

I’d hoped to see a leafy sea dragon on this trip, but I found out that they like cold water, and I don’t. So I’ll settle for drawings and photos of them.

Aside from Eden, this is the smallest town we’ve visited in Australia so far. I’m really glad that it was included in the itenerary!
