The forecast was for rain today, but we we finally completed immigration and got into Hobart, home of the cleanest air on the planet, the first impression was perfect air temperature and humidity, friendly Aussies and beautiful scenery.

We walked around the seaport, which was very nice. I was going to rent an e-scooter, but the wind picked up and I could see that a squall was rolling in, so we decided to try a local fish restaurant. I gotta say that it was the worst meal we’ve had on the trip. I asked for tartar sauce to go with our fish and chips and they charged me an extra $2.50. Ok, it was AUD, but still. Some other people were charged for ketchup for their fries. That was one thing, but I think the oil they used was rancid. Yuk, and our guts complained but luckily we didn’t get food poisoning! Ah, the joy of traveling. Sometimes you strike it rich and other times you strike out.

In the afternoon, we booked an excursion to the Bonarong wildlife sanctuary and rescue. I was mostly interested in the Tasmanian Devils, but there was much more!

I don’t know if it was our best stop so far, but it is right up there, and definitely a place I hope to return to someday!
