The port for Christchurch was about a 35 minute bus ride to the city center. The queue was long, so we decided to take an Uber to the Antarctic museum and take the city bus back, getting off at Christchurch to explore.

The museum was fun, with penguins, huskeys, a 4D ride and information about the LC-130s used for transport to Antarctica, which takes 8 hours, and departs from the airport across the street. A few administrative offices are located there behind the museum.

When we got to Christchurch, it seemed like another city, so we stayed on the city bus until we returned back through the tunnel to Lyttleton, which was a cool small town on the harbor, separated from Christchurch by a small mountain range. We hit a grocery store, got some lunch and hit up the local brew pub for some IPA, which is in short supply on the ship (even though Heineken is unlimited).

When we got back to the ship, they were celebrating Lasies Night! Go ladies!
