Rojo Tango
Rojo Tango

We arrived into port early, so were able to debark a couple hours early. We had scheduled a Tango dinner excursion for the evening, and Jess didn’t have a dress yet, so we hoofed it to the shopping district, which I thought would be about 10 minutes, but turned out to be about a half hour. We passed by the bus station, which felt pretty sketchy, but other than that, we were struck by the beauty of the city. Lots of parks and trees, nice modern buildings, and old European architecture. We ended up on a long pedestrian mall before we hit the galeria Pacifica. We got some great tips from the sales lady in the dress shop.

We returned to prepare for our Tango outing, and were instructed to dress elegantly. We went to the “poshest” hotel we ever stepped foot in, enjoyed a nice Argentinian steak dinner, and had our minds blown by the most incredible dancers that we have ever seen!

We didn’t have an excursion until the afternoon, so based on a tip from the list the sales lady gave us, we grabbed an Uber over to San Telmo, which had a Sunday farmers market. When we got our Uber, it was a taxi cab, and was half what a taxi would have charged. We went for tapas and weren’t disappointed:

We just made it back for our city tour. Our guide was a little hard to understand, but we got a lot of the city highlights.

We had plans to meet up with friends for happy hour and the sail away, but they messaged us telling us that Michael had been ill and they hadn’t been able to debark in the city, so the dining staff made a special Argentinian steak dinner. The took us to part of the restaurant that was closed off and served us an incredible meal during our sail away! Such an unexpected treat!
